When it comes to building civil spec water trucks, the chassis platform is one of the most important decisions in the build. At Any Type Trucks, we've been building on the HINO 700 Series FS2632 6x4 — pairing it with our 14,000L water tank system for civil, mining, and infrastructure applications across Queensland.
Here's why we rate this platform and what the build looks like in practice.
Why the HINO FS2632 700 Series
The FS2632 succeeds the FM2632 with a range of updated safety systems and compliance credentials that are increasingly relevant for operators working on Tier 1 project sites and government infrastructure contracts. It's a platform we've found to be well-suited to the demands of civil water truck operations — reliable, serviceable, and backed by a national dealer network.
That last point matters more than some buyers realise. When you're operating 400km from a capital city, parts availability and dealer access are genuine operational considerations.
Safety and Compliance Features
The FS2632 includes a range of active and passive safety systems that are becoming standard requirements on major project sites:
- Electronic Braking System (EBS) — supports braking stability under varying load conditions
- Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) — assists with traction management
- Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) — relevant for long-haul transfers and fatigue-prone routes
- Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) — reduces front-end collision risk
- SRS airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners
- UNECE Regulation 29 cab rating — the cab structure meets this rollover and crash safety standard, which is a requirement under some Tier 1 contractor safety frameworks
These features are relevant to note rather than a guarantee of any specific outcome — their performance in any given situation depends on conditions and how the vehicle is operated.
The Water Tank Build — ATT WT30 14,000L System
This chassis is paired with our 14,000L baffled steel water tank, designed and fabricated in-house. The build includes:
- Longitudinal internal baffles to manage water movement during transit
- Hydraulic-driven pump system
- 5 x 3" pressure sprays for dust suppression
- 2 x 4" gravity sprays for high-volume discharge
- Pneumatic T-Rex Water Cannon with remote FOB nozzle
- In-cab variable flow controller
- Reel Easy hose reel
- Emergency stop system, isolation valves, and wheel chocks
Every build is specified around the client's operational requirements — capacity, spray configuration, compliance requirements, and chassis match are all worked through before fabrication begins.
Applications
This platform and build configuration is commonly used for dust suppression, haul road maintenance, road base preparation, and firefighting readiness on civil, mining, and infrastructure projects across Queensland. It's also been specified for local government fleet applications where compliance credentials and serviceability are priorities.
