🛻 Build Review: Shogun 510 Tipper for Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast

When Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast came to us with a brief for a high-performance tipper that could stand up to the demands of fleet work, we knew we had the right foundation in the Mitsubishi Shogun FV74 6x4 510HP.

They’ve trusted us with builds before, and this one needed to deliver serious grunt, sharp safety systems, and be ready for real work from day one.

Here’s how we made it happen.

Why the Shogun 510?

The MY21 Shogun delivers where it counts:

510HP / 2500Nm torque from a 12.8L OM471 engine

Euro VI compliance for cleaner operation and forward-looking fleets

12-speed AMT with Heavy, Crawler, and Skip Shift modes for control across terrain

Advanced safety tech including:

Active Brake Assist 5 (ABA5)

Pedestrian Detection (PD)

Lane Departure Warning (LDWS)

Electronic Stability Program (ESP)

Adaptive Cruise with Stop & Go

It’s one of the most capable and intelligent platforms on the market, ideal for heavy-duty tipper setups.

What We Built Into It

At Any Type Trucks, we don’t just mount a body and bolt on extras. We build trucks the way operators would spec them if they had full control.

The ATT TB10 Tipper Body is Australian-made, built locally to handle the harsh conditions our customers face every day.

For this Shogun 510, we fitted our ATT TB10 Tipper Body, built tough with:

6mm Hardox 450 floor and 5mm Hardox 450 sides for industry-leading wear resistance and strength

Two-way tailgate allowing bottom and top hinge operation depending on load type

Electric/pneumatic cab-mounted tipper controls giving the operator full command from the seat

Tailgate open and body raised alarms for critical in-cab safety awareness

Electric retractable tarp for fast, reliable load cover with in-cab operation

Side access ladders secure and safe for visual load checks or maintenance

Dual-circuit hydraulic system plumbed for both truck and trailer tipper operation

JOST pintle hook with integrated air dampener for safer, smoother trailer towing

Heavy-duty tipping hoist with clean hydraulic routing and steel line priority

Custom chassis-mount toolboxes, battery isolator access, and protected airlines

ADR-compliant lighting and reverse camera prep for safer night or low-visibility work

Electrical upgrades and sealed junction boxes no vulnerable loom tails

Clear top-of-rail layout to allow future fitments or easier servicing

All works were completed in accordance with the National Code of Practice – Vehicle Standards Bulletin 6 (VSB6) to ensure compliance and safe operation on Australian roads.

We also reinforced all stress points in the chassis taper and subframe because a tipper is no good if it flexes or fails when fully loaded.

Comfort and Control for the Operator

A hard-working truck should still be a good place to spend the day. This one includes:

Airbag suspension with ECAS memory for consistent height control

7" touchscreen infotainment with heavy-vehicle navigation (height, weight, hazmat routing)

Auto headlamps, DRLs, and reverse sensor-ready

Climate control, Bluetooth audio, and leather steering wheel for comfort

Sleeper cab compliance and stowage options for longer hauls

Everything is built to last and to be used.

Built for Work. Backed for the Long Haul.

This tipper isn’t just specced to impress. It’s built to perform. Backed by a 5-year/500,000km factory warranty, 50,000km service intervals, and proven Fuso drivetrain reliability, it’s ready to earn its keep.

And built by a team that takes pride in the utility, durability, and reliability of every truck that leaves the workshop.
